A leading media company in Singapore is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead the operation and maintenance of power supply systems at the Bukit Batok Transmission Centre. The role involves ensuring the reliability and compliance of electrical systems for broadcast transmission services. Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably two years of relevant experience, and deep knowledge of electrical systems. Strong project management and diagnostic skills are essential, along with good communication abilities.
The Senior Principal Engineer of BBTC M&E is responsible for leading and managing the operation and maintenance of all power supply installations at the Bukit Batok Transmission Centre (BBTC). This role ensures the reliability, safety, and compliance of electrical systems that support critical broadcast transmission services, including FM radio and digital TV. The engineer also plays a key role in planning upgrades, implementing preventive maintenance strategies, and responding to power‑related faults to minimize service disruptions.
Ensures compliance with the Code of Practice for Electrical Installations (SS 638) in all Mediacorp terrestrial transmission systems, covering both FM radio, digital TV, and other systems at BBTC. This includes ensuring that all electrical systems meet government regulatory requirements and internal company performance and safety standards.
Lead the planning, operation, and maintenance of all power supply systems at BBTC to ensure high availability and operational excellence.
Provide technical leadership to engineering teams, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations (e.g. SS 638) and Mediacorp's internal engineering standards.
Oversee routine and preventive maintenance programs for electrical infrastructure, including UPS, switchgear, generators, and distribution panels.
Ensure all systems meet regulatory requirements for safety, reliability, and energy efficiency.
Plan and manage electrical upgrade projects, capacity expansions, or system retrofits, including budgeting, resource allocation, and stakeholder coordination.
Collaborate with internal departments, consultants, and external contractors to ensure timely and cost‑effective project delivery.
Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical faults or power outages.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
Identify and mitigate risks related to power system failures or compliance breaches.
Develop and implement contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted broadcast transmission.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, testing, incidents, and compliance audits.
Support internal and external audits by providing technical documentation and site walkthroughs.
Basic Degree in Electrical Engineering
Class 3 driving license
Preferably 2 years relevant work experience in related industries.
Deep knowledge of electrical systems (e.g., switchgear, UPS, generators, distribution systems).
Familiarity with Singapore's Code of Practice (SS 638) and other relevant regulations (EMA, BCA, etc.).
Proficiency in electrical system design, aircon system, fault diagnosis, and maintenance best practices.
Good knowledge or experience in:

Radio/TV transmission
OHASA Standards
Ability to assess complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop sustainable solutions.
Strong diagnostic and decision‑making skills under pressure.
Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
