Job description

Job Purpose

The Huawei Network Architect is responsible for the design, engineering, and service development of secure, high-performance Huawei-based campus network infrastructure. This role includes leading network architecture for wired and wireless services, multi-tenant solutions hosted in data centres, and enforcing strong cybersecurity controls including firewall and NAC integration. The Architect supports the full service lifecycle from planning to operations.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Architecture

• Design and document end-to‑end Huawei-based campus network architecture (CloudEngine, AirEngine, iMaster NCE-Campus).
• Develop physical and logical designs, HLDs/LLDs, and configuration templates for scalable and secure deployments.
• Align network architecture with enterprise and customer needs.

Technology Strategy & Implementation

• Define the Huawei technology roadmap and evaluate new Huawei releases and SDN features.
• Lead implementation of multi‑tenant Huawei NAC and campus network services hosted in a data centre.
• Integrate Huawei solutions with observability tools, automation, and service management platforms.

Service Development

• Develop network service offerings with defined SLAs, cost models, and support tiers.
• Create engineering playbooks, reusable design patterns, and presales collaterals.
• Package network infrastructure into a managed service model.

Cybersecurity & Firewall Integration

• Design and enforce network access policies, segmentation, and NAC using Huawei Agile Controller or iMaster NCE.
• Integrate firewall rules, 802.1x, and Zero Trust principles into the campus LAN/WLAN design.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with PDPA, ISO 27001, and other standards.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Guide network engineers and delivery teams on Huawei network and security solutions.
• Lead technical discussions with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Act as SME during RFPs, project bids, and architecture reviews.

Qualifications

Education & Certification

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• Huawei HCIE‑R&S or HCIE‑Datacom preferred.
• Certifications in network security or firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet) advantageous.

Experience

• 10+ years in enterprise network architecture, 5+ years with Huawei solutions.
• Proven delivery of secure campus network services in service provider or multi‑tenant environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Huawei NAC, switching, wireless, and integration with security systems.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Huawei campus technologies: CloudEngine switches, AirEngine WAPs, iMaster NCE-Campus, Agile Controller.
• Strong knowledge of network segmentation, VLAN, ACL, QoS, and firewall policy integration.
• Familiarity with automation (e.g., Python, APIs) and SDN/intent-based networking.

Soft Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Effective communicator across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Able to lead teams, provide mentorship, and engage in solution advisory.
