Primary Responsibility

The Senior Merchandising Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end merchandising strategies, including planning, buying, assortment development, and inventory management, to drives sales, profitability, and brand relevance. This role balances commercial decision-making with market insights, consumer behavior, and trend awareness to ensure the right product is delivered to the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity.

This role works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution from seasonal planning to in-store delivery, while responding dynamically to sales performance and market conditions.

Areas of Responsibilities

Commercial Planning & Buying

  • Develop and execute seasonal merchandising and buying strategies aligned with brand direction and commercial objectives.

  • Lead seasonal buys and manage open-to-buy budgets based on sales performance, forecasts, and inventory targets.

  • Analyze sales data, product performance, and inventory flow to inform buying decisions and optimize profitability.

  • Monitor in-season performance and implement actions to maximize sell-through and minimize markdown exposure.

Assortment Planning & Allocation

  • Define product assortments and category strategies based on historical data, market insights, and consumer demand.

  • Forecast demand and oversee allocation strategies to ensure optimal product flow across stores and channels.

  • Partner with retail and visual teams to align assortments with store layouts, floor plans, and commercial priorities.

  • Support seasonal launches, promotions, and key trading periods to maximize commercial impact.

Inventory, Purchase Order & Shipping Management

  • Oversee inventory readiness to support timely product launches and replenishment cycles.

  • Manage purchase orders, shipment tracking, and inventory transfers across warehouses and retail locations.

  • Review and maintain accurate shipping and import/ export documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate closely with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth delivery and stock flow.

Data Analysis, Market & Consumer Insights

  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, stock health, and market trends to identify opportunities and risks.

  • Track competitor activity, consumer behavior, and retail trends to inform merchandising strategies.

  • Provide regular performance reporting and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders and retail teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with planning, logistics, marketing, retail operations, and visual merchandising teams to ensure alignment and execution excellence.

  • Support retail teams with product insights, assortment rationale, and commercial guidance.

  • Contribute to training and knowledge-sharing initiatives related to product, trends, and consumer behavior.

Travel & Market Engagement

  • Conduct store visits to review in-store execution and gather on-the-ground insights.

  • Participate in regional or international buying trips and market visits as required.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all merchandising activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for buying, inventory, and supplier transactions.

  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support business and merchandising objectives.

What We’re Looking For
  • 6–10 years’ hands-on merchandising experience in mono or multi-brand retail, with exposure to fashion, lifestyle, athleisure, and/or sports brands preferred.

  • Strong commercial and analytical skills with proven experience managing budgets and inventory.

  • Solid understanding of retail KPIs, assortment planning, and in-season trading.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and regional or global stakeholders.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven retail environment.
