Position Overview

The Senior Marine Package Engineer will be responsible for the technical design, engineering, procurement, and integration of assigned marine equipment packages for FPSO/offshore projects. The role involves managing vendor interfaces, ensuring compliance with project specifications, classification society requirements, and relevant international standards, while delivering packages on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Package Management

  • Lead the engineering, procurement, and delivery of marine equipment packages such as cargo handling systems, ballast water systems, mooring systems, loading arms, and offshore cranes.
  • Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, and requisitions for marine packages.
  • Review vendor documents, drawings, and calculations for compliance.
  • Coordinate with procurement, QA/QC, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery.

2. Technical & Compliance

  • Ensure designs comply with Class (ABS, DNV, BV, etc.), Flag State, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, and project-specific requirements.
  • Provide technical input during design reviews (HSE, HAZID, HAZOP).
  • Troubleshoot engineering and operational issues during construction, commissioning, and offshore phases.

3. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with shipyards, package vendors, subcontractors, and internal discipline engineers.
  • Support integration of marine systems into vessel design.
  • Participate in FATs, SITs, and commissioning activities.

4. Project & Risk Management

  • Monitor package progress, track risks, and implement mitigation measures.
  • Ensure proper documentation control and handover to operations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8–12 years’ experience in marine systems/package engineering, preferably in FPSO or offshore vessel projects.
  • Strong knowledge of marine systems design, operation, and integration.
  • Familiarity with classification society and international maritime regulations.
  • Proven vendor and package management experience.
