About the Role

We are partnering with a reputable engineering organisation to hire a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with strong experience in ACMV/M&E or construction projects in Singapore. This role is ideal for candidates who excel in fire protection system design, authority compliance, and large‑scale project management.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Lead design and integration of fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, wet/dry risers, gas suppression, smoke control, etc.) with ACMV/M&E systems.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations, system schematics, and technical drawings in line with Singapore standards (SS CP 52, SS 575, SS 553) and international codes (NFPA, FM Global).
• Coordinate fire protection system layout with ACMV, electrical, plumbing, and structural teams.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure design and installation comply with SCDF, BCA, Fire Safety Act, and relevant Codes of Practice.
• Prepare and submit fire safety plans, calculations, and Authority submissions.
• Liaise with QPs, Registered Inspectors (RI), and SCDF officers for approvals and clearances.

Project Management

• Manage project life cycle from concept design to installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements.
• Resolve site issues, conduct risk assessments, and ensure project delivery within schedule and budget.

Testing & Commissioning

• Lead testing, inspection, and commissioning of fire protection systems.
• Ensure system integration with ACMV equipment (pressurisation fans, smoke extraction systems, etc.).
• Oversee documentation, handover process, and Fire Safety Certificate (FSC) requirements.

Leadership & Mentorship

• Guide junior engineers and drafting teams on design, authority submission, and technical matters.
• Conduct internal training sessions on fire codes, compliance updates, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) qualification is an advantage.

• Minimum 5–8 years of fire protection engineering experience within ACMV/M&E or construction industry.
• Proven track record in large‑scale projects (commercial, industrial, LTA, BCA‑related works).

• Strong knowledge of SCDF, BCA Codes of Practice, NFPA, FM Global requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and hydraulic calculation software.
• Familiar with ACMV smoke control systems, stairwell pressurisation, fire alarm & M&E interfaces.
