Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd (SLNG) was incorporated by the Energy Market Authority of Singapore in June 2009 to build, own and operate Singapore's very first open‑access, multi‑user LNG Terminal. This is a key national infrastructure that supports Singapore's energy diversification strategy and future economic development in the energy sector.
With more than 95% of electricity in Singapore being generated using natural gas, the SLNG Terminal helps to enhance the country's energy security by enabling natural gas to be shipped to Singapore from anywhere in the world. It also serves as a platform to facilitate the development of new LNG‑related businesses, thereby contributing to the growth of Singapore's energy industry and the creation of new job opportunities.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and solutions for the Production and Maintenance teams for instrument‑related issues.
- Liaise closely with Production and Maintenance teams as to how to reduce instrument maintenance costs and increase availability and functionality.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including government agencies on possible gas pipeline network and electrical power grid, instrument and metering interfaces to ensure conformity.
- Prepare and update instrument maintenance procedures for all instruments, PLC, Fire & Gas system, ESD, metering, CCTV and security equipment is up to date.
- Conduct root cause analysis for instrument related incident and recommend preventive and corrective actions to prevent future occurrence.
- Carry out MOCs project to resolve and improve instrument reliability and operational issues from engineering, construction to commissioning.
- Ensure verification, inspection, testing and reporting to management in respect of all electrical and instrument equipment used for maintenance and their certification for use in hazardous areas of the terminal.
- Participate and provide support in execution of maintenance or major equipment turnarounds in the terminal.
- Manage functional safety lifecycle of SIS in the Terminal.
- Support expansion project from meeting overall facility integrity point of view, ensure smooth integration and any opportunity to leverage with existing Plant is captured.
- The incumbent shall also participate in emergency response and may be assigned to a specific role and responsibility for such purpose.
Requirements
- The candidate must have a good Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Candidate with professional accreditation or affiliation to professional bodies of engineers will have an advantage.
- Minimum eight (8) years practical experience in an instrument & control maintenance / design function in an oil & gas or petrochemical Plant.
- Conversant with local codes, regulations and submission procedures, and must possess expert knowledge of electrical & instrument international engineering design.
- Experience in functional safety for the process industry as per IEC 61511. Certified functional safety engineer will be an advantage.
- Experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance and trouble shooting of a variety of large and complex electrical, instrument and control equipment in the oil, gas or petrochemical industry is required.
- Experience with common PLC programming software and languages and able to troubleshoot third party equipment issues through program debugging. Experience with Siemens PLC will be an advantage.

- Able to perform installation, commissioning, maintenance and trouble shooting of a variety of large and complex electrical equipment and related instruments.
