Job description

What you’ll be responsible for:

As a Senior Accountant focused, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance across a range of cost areas. You will take full ownership of the month-end close process related to cost and related areas including any local statutory reporting requirements. Your work will support internal and external reporting requirements, inform business decisions, and help improve operational efficiency through automation and cross‑functional collaboration.

What you’ll work on:

• Completion of month-end close procedures including reviewing auto‑matched transactions in the ERP, period‑end journal entries and performing reconciliations.
• Analyze fluctuations in key balance sheet and P&L accounts to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Prepare support for SEC disclosures and other external financial reporting
• Review agreements to ensure accounting complies with US GAAP and any local reporting requirements.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
• Take ownership of controls, Support SOX, audit, and tax compliance efforts by maintaining detailed documentation and responding to requests
• Contribute to special projects and ad hoc accounting analyses as needed
• Actively seeking areas of improvement and introducing automation and other measures improving process efficiency.

What you’ll bring to Circle:

Core Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or ACA/ CPA/ ACCA or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience with Big 4 firms or with FinTech, Technology or Financial institutions. Experience working in or with listed companies is preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge and experience dealing with the U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
• Proven experience performing complex reconciliations and variance analyses.
• Attention to detail, consistency and multitask in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to work independently with a global team in different time zones and develop with a fast growing organisation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

• Understanding of blockchain technology and digital assets.
• Experience with Oracle, Slack, MacOS, and GSuite
• Experience working cross‑functionally in a remote‑first, high‑growth environment
