This individual will be a key finance professional supporting the business. The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), and delivering timely, high-quality financial reporting. The role plays a critical part in month-end close, audit readiness, and supporting ERP and other finance initiatives.
Responsibilities
Reporting to CFO, he/she will be responsible for the following duties but are not limited to:
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain accurate monthly management accounts, balance sheet schedules, and P&L statements
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and SFRS, supporting consistent application of accounting policies and internal controls
- Support statutory audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions; liaise directly with auditors and tax advisors
- Execute month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage cashflow tracking, bank reconciliations, treasury functions and support working capital management
- Research, monitor, and support accounting treatment
Systems & Process Excellence
- Execute and maintain internal controls to ensure data integrity and audit readiness
- Identify process inefficiencies and risks; recommend and implement practical improvements
- Maintain chart of accounts, master data, and accounting documentation
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance finance operations and reporting quality
- Support ERP system implementation, enhancement, and day-to-day operations
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the other finance team members to support financial reporting and analysis
- Partner with operations and commercial teams to ensure accurate financial data capture and understanding
- Support and mentor junior accounting staff where required
- Assist/support ad-hoc tasks as required
Requirements
- Candidate with a degree in Accounting, professional accountancy qualification or equivalent
- Must be CA/CPA/ACCA certified
- At least 10 years of working experience in accounting
- Ex-Big 4/mid-tier firm preferred
- Experience with project accounting is a must
- Experience working in trading companies & knowledge on inventory system
- Good interpersonal & communication skills
- Independent & good time management
- Experience with general ledger functions and full set accounting
- Hands-on experience with inventory & accounting software packages i.e. Xero & MYOB
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and attention to detail
