Job summary

A leading finance firm in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the full spectrum of accounting activities, focusing on month-end closing, general accounting, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of financial accounting experience, with strong analytical skills and knowledge of IFRS/SFRS. Strong proficiency in SAP-FICO is highly preferred. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial month end closing and reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage day-to-day general accounting functions.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
  • Analyze fluctuations in key balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Prepare audit schedules and documentation.
  • Liaise with auditors for smooth audit processes.
  • Support tax preparation, GST, and other statutory filings.
  • Introduce automation to improve process efficiency.

Objectives of the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting activities, with a strong focus on month-end closing, general accounting, fixed assets, tax compliance, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and able to work independently within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a timely and accurate financial month end closing and reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Manage day-to-day general accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, fixed asset accounting, and staff expense claims.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
  • Analyze fluctuations in key balance sheet and P&L accounts to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
  • Support the preparation of corporate income tax, GST, and other statutory filings, including statutory surveys.
  • Actively seek areas of improvement and introduce automation and other measures to improve process efficiency.
  • Any other adhoc duties assigned.
Skills & Qualification
  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Candidate with at least 8 years working experience in Financial Accounting.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive work attitude.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/SFRS and financial reporting principles.
  • Good Knowledge of SAP-FICO would be highly preferred.
  • Experience in setting up Shared Service Centre is a plus.
  • Mature personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
