A veterinary hospital in Singapore is seeking a hands-on Accountant to manage FY Oct 2024 – Sep 2025 accounts. The role involves daily bookkeeping, statutory audit participation, and ensuring compliance with Singapore tax regulations. The ideal candidate holds a Chartered Accountant or equivalent degree, has 6-10 years of experience with QuickBooks, and excels in process documentation. Immediate start preferred. Only Singapore citizens and permanent residents will be considered.
We are seeking a hands-on Accountant to join the finance function of a fast-growing veterinary hospital. This person will ensure seamless continuity by taking charge of the FY Oct 2024 – Sep 2025 accounting, while driving stronger controls, documentation, and audit/compliance readiness. You will work closely with consultants and operational management, focusing on implementing best practices and steady process improvement.
Take full handover of FY Oct 2024 – Sep 2025 accounts from the current accountant.
Hands-on involvement of the FY24-25 Statutory Audit
Fully manage the accounting form Oct24-25 period.
Understand current processes to ensure a smooth knowledge transfer and business continuity.
Manage daily bookkeeping and the general ledger using QuickBooks.
Reinstate robust monthly closing, weekly revenue and cash reconciliation, and timely GST compliance.
Manage full scope accounting, assisted by 2 junior assistants.
Implement audit issues resolution
Identify and document process gaps; work with consultants and leadership to implement best practices and enforce controls.
Ensure accurate record-keeping, timely statutory filings, tax compliance, and audit readiness.
Document and standardize accounting procedures and workflows so others can back up or adopt these processes as needed.
Guide continuous improvement projects and help embed a culture of operational discipline in the finance team.
Support cross-functional engagement with HR (for payroll/allowances), operations (for cash handling and billing), and external auditors (for annual audits).
Prepare accurate monthly/quarterly financial statements per SFRS and management requirements.
Ensure the business is always "audit-ready" and help deliver timely, issue-free audits each cycle.
Contribute to ongoing finance transformation projects (process automation, digital documentation, reporting enhancements).
Recommend improvements for cost efficiencies, cash flow, and compliance leveraging digital tools.
Chartered Accountant OR Professional Degree in Accounting
6-10 years’ experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software; QuickBooks Online experience preferred.
Should have handled an SME with at least 120 employees and an annual turnover of above SGD 10 Million.
Technology driven, able to identify automation opportunities.
Excellent MS Excel skills
Strong knowledge of Singapore tax regulations (including GST) and statutory reporting.
Sound understanding of monthly closing, reconciliations, and audit support.
Experience documenting processes and implementing controls (especially in a transitioning or growing SME environment).
High attention to detail, integrity, and a proactive, collaborative working style.
Strong communication; able to work independently and as part of a consulting/operations team.
Singaporean citizen or permanent resident, Immediate start preferred.
Reports to: Senior Finance Manager

Notice Period Preference: Immediate to 1 month
