Search & Audience Insights Manager
Responsibilities
Mediacorp is seeking a Search & Audience Insights Manager to lead our strategy for how audiences discover and engage with our content — across traditional search engines, generative AI platforms, and emerging digital ecosystems.
This role sits at the intersection of SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and audience intelligence, ensuring that Mediacorp's journalism, entertainment, and community stories remain discoverable, trusted, and visible in a rapidly evolving search landscape.
The role will collaborate across editorial, marketing, product, and data teams to grow organic reach, improve search authority across languages, and drive insights that shape our content and audience strategy for both human and AI-led discovery.
Key Responsibilities
Search & Generative Engine Optimisation
- Lead Mediacorp's SEO and GEO strategy for digital products, including CNA, meWATCH, 8world, meListen, Berita, Seithi and 8days.
- Optimise content for visibility across AI-driven discovery engines such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.
- Develop promptable and structured content frameworks that ensure Mediacorp's expertise and credibility are surfaced in generative search results.
- Establish entity, schema, and metadata strategies that improve our visibility and trust signals within AI summarisation and recommendation models.
- Collaborate with content, language, and editorial teams to ensure multilingual SEO readiness (English, Malay, Mandarin, Tamil) — including hreflang and localisation optimisation.
- Track and report on emerging GEO performance metrics such as inclusion in AI summaries, citation frequency, and entity ranking.
Audience Insights & Data Strategy
- Combine SEO, GEO, and audience analytics to uncover how users discover and engage with Mediacorp content across channels and regions.
- Build dashboards and insight pipelines that unify search, referral, and engagement data with AI visibility metrics.
- Partner with editorial and marketing teams to guide content commissioning and packaging based on emerging trends and search intent data.
- Analyse regional differences in search behavior and generative discovery to inform localized storytelling and targeting strategies.
Data Operations & Governance
- Work with data teams to maintain Mediacorp's structured data and metadata standards for discoverability and interoperability across platforms.
- Work with product and data teams to evolve taxonomy, tagging, and entity relationships in alignment with knowledge graph principles.
- Ensure accurate tracking, tagging, and schema markup to support both analytics and AI search inclusion.
- Develop governance frameworks that maintain the integrity of metadata across multiple brands and content systems.
Experimentation & Innovation
- Lead pilot projects testing GEO interventions — from optimising content snippets for AI summaries to training structured data models.
- Collaborate with AI and product teams to surface Mediacorp content in chat, voice, and assistant-driven experiences.
- Stay ahead of algorithmic and generative shifts to develop future-proof strategies that enhance both visibility and user trust.
Collaboration & Enablement
- Train newsroom, marketing, and platform teams on SEO + GEO best practices and data-driven content creation.
- Create multilingual playbooks to support content producers in crafting AI-search-friendly metadata and headlines.
- Act as the bridge between editorial creativity, data insight, and technical innovation, ensuring alignment across teams.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in SEO, audience intelligence, or digital analytics, ideally within a media or publishing environment.
- Deep understanding of search algorithms, entity-based SEO, and emerging AI search ecosystems.
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights for editorial, marketing, and audience growth.
- Familiarity with structured data (schema.org), knowledge graphs, and multilingual optimisation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush, Looker Studio, and relevant GEO tracking tools.
- Hands-on experience with product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Adobe Analytics, or Amplitude.
- Comfortable working across multiple languages and audience segments within Southeast Asia.
- Bonus: familiarity with AI/LLM discovery platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) and voice search optimisation.
