Job summary

A leading safety management company in Singapore is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations and contribute to safety culture development. The ideal candidate will have a relevant diploma or degree, a series of safety certifications, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Responsibilities include implementing safety plans, conducting inspections, and leading safety initiatives across various sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma / degree in civil / structural preferred
• WDA approved Safety Officer Course (level C) with MOM registered
• WDA approved safety coordinator course (level B)
• Certificate in BizSafe Level 2
• Environmental Control Officer (ECO) Certificate
• Min. 3 years of relevant work experience
• Experience in working with Contractors
• Good team player and adaptable to a dynamic environment
• Certificate in BizSafe Level 4 is an advantage
• Trained auditor on Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act
• Implement Mero’s Project Environmental, Health and Safety Plan
• Liaise with Clients’ safety team on site safety management
• Assist in maintaining Mero’s Safety Management System to ISO standards
• Conduct Monthly Safety Committee meetings
• Assist with safety program implementation for a safety culture
• Support Project Managers in safety enforcement
• Liaise on EHS matters with staff, Managers, and authorities
• Conduct safety inspections and review Risk Assessments
• Carry out incident investigations and propose corrective actions
• Inspect and rectify unsafe practices and conditions
• Lead contractors in implementing safety systems
• Maintain and update safety documentation and records
• Organize WSH campaign and safety activities
• Prepare for audits and follow up on findings

Responsibilities

• Ensure work activities are carried out in compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and its subsidiary legislation
• Implement Mero’s Project Environmental, Health and Safety Plan
• Liaise with Clients’ safety team in managing overall site safety
• Assist in the maintenance of Mero’s Safety Management System to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards and BizSafe Star certification.
• Conduct the Monthly Safety Committee meetings
• Assist with safety program implementation at the workplaces towards safety culture development.
• Assist the Project Managers in safety enforcement and the achievement of WSH targets and objectives
• Liaise closely with staff / Managers / Government Regulatory Authorities and clients on all EHS Matters.
• Conduct periodic safety inspection of workplaces and review Risk Assessments to ensure continued adequacy and effectiveness
• Carry out incident investigations and propose corrective actions to be implemented
• Inspect and rectify any unsafe practices and conditions at workplaces.
• Lead the contractors in the implementation of Company’s safety systems to promote the safe conduct of the Works
• Maintain and update safety related documentation and records
• Assist to organise WSH campaign and safety related activities
• Participate in preparation for Audit and follow up on the actions needed from the audit findings
