Job summary

A leading construction safety firm in Singapore seeks a qualified Safety Officer to develop and monitor policies and procedures ensuring compliance with local EHS regulations. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a managerial position within the construction industry, be a Registered WSHO and ECO, and possess in-depth knowledge of safety codes. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience at a managerial or senior officer level.
  • In-depth knowledge of local EHS regulations and construction safety codes.
  • Ability to conduct periodic safety inspections.

Job description
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans in compliance with all local regulations and corporate standards.
  • To assist the Project team in ensuring staff and workers work in a safe and healthy environment in accordance to the safety management system setup by the Safety Officer.
  • To ensure compliance of the permit to work system at the site and to stop & report to the Safety Officer/ Site Management of any incompatible works relating to the same.
  • To act as the secretary of the Project WSH Committee by making aware to Nakano staff and subcontractors of the site safety activities and the required actions.
  • To assist the Site Team in complying with the WSH Acts and Regulation.
  • To conduct periodic safety inspection to verify level of safety compliance so that the safety standards are constantly improved.
  • To ensure site compliance with statutory safety requirements and in-house safety rules and regulations and to report any deviations to the Safety Officer & Site Management for their consideration and actions
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience at a managerial or senior officer level, preferably within the construction or heavy industry sector.
  • Must be a Registered WSHO and ECO.
  • In-depth knowledge of local EHS regulations, construction safety codes, and audit processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.
  • Able to start immediately or in short notice.
