Job description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations, fostering a culture of safety, and reducing workplace risks on-site. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and thorough knowledge of safety protocols and practices in the construction sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead regular site inspections and conduct comprehensive risk assessments to uphold high safety standards and ensure compliance with company ISO and OSHAS policies
• Identify safety hazards on-site and implement corrective actions promptly, preparing detailed inspection reports for the Construction Manager to facilitate immediate response
• Collaborate with construction teams to provide expert guidance on safety matters and lead daily toolbox meetings to reinforce safety awareness
• Enforce all applicable safety legislation and internal safety rules to maintain a safe working environment
• Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System across worksites
• Monitor supervisors and workers to ensure strict adherence to safe work procedures and regulatory compliance
• Maintain accurate and complete project Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) reports and documentation to support safety management and audits
