Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to manage construction projects and supervise site activities. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, with at least five years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include overseeing quality control, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to resolve project issues. This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • 5 years' experience in relevant field.
  • Registered with BCA and accredited RE by IES/ACES.
  • Conversant in local legislation, regulations, and codes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team of site supervisors and work with QPs to resolve issues.
  • Review project drawings and specifications for discrepancies.
  • Supervise construction and ensure quality control.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Control Act and Regulations.
  • Report non-compliance to supervising Qualified Persons.
  • Coordinate with project consultants and construction sites.
  • Observe and comply with site safety regulations.

Job description
Job Responsibilities:
  • Managed team of site supervisors/RTOs
  • Work with QP to resolve all design and technical issues arising from the construction works
  • Review all project drawings and specifications, and raise any discrepancies and/or possible problems before construction work commence on site and progressively throughout the entire course of the project
  • Review the civil and structural design documentation submission from contractor such as temporary designs, method statements and test reports.
  • Supervise the construction and related works, maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the project specifications, drawings, approved sketches, product or system specifications, contractor’s method statements, installation and working procedures and site instruction
  • Ensure that work is carried out in compliance with Building Control Act and Regulations, Codes of Practices and requirement of building authorities and government agencies
  • Report to the supervising Qualified Persons any work that are not constructed according to the building approved plans, project drawings including shop drawings
  • Assist to resolve all site issues, including coordination with adjacent/nearby construction sites and report to the respective project consultants, supervising Qualified Persons and appointed project manager
  • Observe and comply with site safety, and submit all reports as directed and ensure that works are carried out in a safe and proper manner
Job Requirements:
