The Organo-Mineral Group (OMG) within the Asian School of the Environment (ASE) is seeking a Research Associate. This position is part of a Nanyang Assistant Professor startup grant. The Research Associate will conduct fieldwork and laboratory analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fieldwork
  • Assist setting up new laboratory infrastructure
  • Wet chemical treatment of environmental samples
  • HPLC analysis including preparative HPLC for compound specific isotope analysis
  • N2 BET surface area analysis
  • Develop protocols and prepare samples for radiocarbon analysis
  • Other analyses include elemental and isotopic assessment
Competencies and Qualifications
  • A master’s degree in Geoscience or related field
  • Field experience for environmental sampling
  • Experience in analytical equipment including in isotope geochemistry
  • As the position requires stakeholder engagement in English, candidate should have good written and oral communication skills in English
  • Able to independently conduct field and laboratory work
  • Enthusiasm for research and team spirit
