This study aims to evaluate the impact of two newly introduced Mother Tongue Language (MTL) teaching models in MOE Kindergartens—Model A, which involves an extended 30 minutes of MTL instructional time, and Model B, which integrates the extended MTL time with an English-MTL Tandem Teaching approach—on children’s MTL learning outcomes and interest.
