Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with the Group’s tax governance framework and internal control processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance with all corporate tax obligations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual filings.
  • Manage the preparation and timely filing of tax returns (corporate income tax, GST/VAT, withholding taxes, Pillar 2, etc.) across the Asia region, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any tax audits, disputes, or inquiries from tax authorities, and offering effective solutions.
  • Ability to provide guidance and support to the broader tax team as needed.
  • Manage external advisors in BEPS implementation for the region and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure calculations and necessary filings are made on a timely basis.
  • Business partnering by advising and leading the tax implementation of projects including ETR planning projects, group restructuring, new investments/acquisitions/ transactions/funding, etc.
  • Timely communication on tax matters to reduce unexpected risks.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant Asian direct and indirect tax experience in Big 4 accounting firms and/or as an in-house tax advisor, with the latter preferred.
  • Experience advising on and managing tax compliance, audits, current and deferred tax accounting, and providing audit support in Asian countries is a strong advantage.
  • Strong tax analytical skills including in tax effect accounting
  • Degree in Accounting/Tax, Chartered Accountant qualification, or other relevant credentials.
  • Strong team player, demonstrating collaboration, accountability, and leadership with both external advisors and internal stakeholders.
  • Able to adapt communication style to different audiences.
  • Resilient, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Possesses a growth mindset and embraces changes in both internal and external tax environments.
  • Tenacious and persistent in seeing tasks and projects through to completion.
