Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in Singapore is looking for a candidate with a strong background in stakeholder engagement and business development. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience and a solid understanding of the internationalisation needs of Singapore businesses. Responsibilities include overseeing business opportunities in Korea and Japan, organising trade fairs, and conducting market research. Proficiency in English and bilingual skills in Japanese or Korean are highly regarded. This role may require travel.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, business associations, and international organizations in China and North Asia markets.

  • Market Coverage & Business Development: Oversee the end-to-end process of identifying companies, developing business opportunities, facilitating projects, and managing stakeholders in assigned markets (especially Korea and Japan).

  • Programme & Event Management: Organise business missions, trade fairs, and other activities to promote Singapore businesses internationally.

  • Strategic Planning: Assist in developing and managing the division’s annual workplan and budget, and create engagement strategies for projects.

  • Market Intelligence: Conduct market research, prepare strategic reports, and provide analysis on Northeast Asia markets to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Business Advisory & Matching: Facilitate advisory services and business matching for Singapore companies seeking opportunities in the region.

  • Committee & Partnership Support: Coordinate bilateral business committee meetings, prepare administrative programmes, reports, and presentation materials. Support key national-level initiatives such as the China-ASEAN Expo and China International Import Expo.

  • Marketing & Outreach: Drive awareness and interest in Northeast Asia business opportunities through omni-channel marketing and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, business development, advisory services, corporate secretarial work, or event planning and execution.
  • Strong understanding of Singapore businesses’ internationalisation needs and ability to provide relevant advisory support.
  • Experience working with government agencies, consultancies, or NGOs preferred.
  • Solid business acumen and knowledge of local and international business environments, including economic and political trends.
  • Prior experience in Japan or Korea markets is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; self‑motivated, positive, and a strong team player.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken); bilingual ability in Japanese and/or Korean for business correspondence is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel.
