Job description
About Anyon

Anyon Technologies Pte Ltd (and its affiliate, Anyon Computing) is a cutting‑edge quantum computing hardware platform company dedicated to advancing quantum technology from the ground up. Founded by experts from world‑leading and pioneering quantum device research groups at Caltech and UC Berkeley, we are at the forefront of developing scalable, hybrid quantum‑classical supercomputing systems. Through strategic collaborations with industry leaders such as NVIDIA, we are building the next generation of quantum supercomputers designed to drive transformative applications, including next‑gen AI.

Job Description

We are seeking an entry‑level Research Engineer (Design and Simulation) to advance superconducting qubit technologies through modeling, simulation, and design of on‑chip quantum microwave circuits. The primary responsibility of this role is to use electromagnetic and circuit‑level simulation tools to explore device architectures, optimize design layouts, reduce crosstalk, and guide the development of scalable qubit systems.

While the focus is on simulation‑driven design, you will also contribute to selected measurement activities in the laboratory—supporting bring‑up and characterization to validate models and refine designs. This role requires close collaboration with fabrication, quantum control electronics, and software teams to ensure that simulated performance translates into robust hardware implementations.

As part of a deep‑tech team at the forefront of quantum computing, you will be expected to combine creativity with rigorous engineering practices, deliver rapid design iterations, and maintain clear technical documentation. You will also collaborate closely with academic and industry partners to explore new directions in scalable quantum chip architectures. We encourage publications and patent filings based on outstanding results.

Responsibility
  • Drive the end‑to‑end design cycle for on‑chip microwave networks: from concept and simulation through prototype validation and iterative refinement.
  • Modeling, simulation, and theoretical analysis of on‑chip microwave components and integrated systems, with attention to scalability, signal integrity, and crosstalk mitigation.
  • Contribute to architecture and design‑for‑test discussions, including packaging and interconnect strategies that impact microwave performance.
  • Support cryogenic validation measurements as needed—assisting in bring‑up, calibration, and targeted experiments to benchmark qubit control and readout fidelity.
  • Collaborate with firmware and software teams to enable simulation‑informed experiment automation, data analysis pipelines, and integration of design feedback into system‑level improvements.
  • Maintain clear and rigorous documentation of design methodologies, simulation results, and experimental validations, and share insights across the team.
  • Excellent learning ability for quick grasping knowledge in new technical areas independently.
Basic Qualifications
  • This position is suitable for candidates at the junior level, with strong fundamentals and eagerness to grow into independent contributors.
  • Master’s or bachelor’s in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering degree.
  • Relevant academic projects or industry internships; fresh graduates strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with microwave and/or multiphysics modeling software (one or more of COMSOL, Sonnet, ANSYS, HFSS, etc.)
  • Proficient in a scientific programming environment.
  • Effective at working in a team environment with engineers, scientists, and technicians of diverse technical backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of quantum mechanics, with expertise in at least one of the following topics: quantum technologies (sensing, communications, computing, etc.), superconducting qubits, cavity/circuit QED, quantum optics, open quantum systems.
  • Experience with device layout scripting and automation.
  • Hands‑on lab experience with some of: low‑noise measurement techniques, VNA, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, AWG, IQ mixer/IF‑RF chains.
  • Candidates with a PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent degree in a related field are also welcome to apply for the senior position of the same role.
Employment Type

Full‑time (Internship opportunities may be considered case‑by‑case).

Location

Singapore (on‑site; hybrid arrangement possible for simulation/design phases).
