Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and technically inclined Project Sales Engineer to drive sales of generator sets (gensets) and power solutions. The role involves business development, technical proposals, tender preparation, project coordination, and customer relationship management. The candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve sales targets and ensure project delivery according to customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for generator sets, power systems, and related equipment.
- Prepare and deliver technical proposals, quotations, and product presentations.
- Manage full sales cycle from lead generation, tender bidding, negotiation to order closing.
- Build and maintain relationships with consultants, contractors, end users, and M&E firms.
Project & Technical Coordination
- Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to select suitable genset solutions.
- Work closely with engineering and operations team for project execution and delivery.
- Conduct site visits, attend meetings, and coordinate technical discussions.
- Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery/installation.
Commercial & Contract Handling
- Prepare commercial proposals and compliance documents for tenders.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve business profitability.
- Track project costs, margins, and payment collection according to milestones.
After-Sales Support
- Coordinate with service/maintenance team for commissioning and warranty support.
- Provide technical assistance and handle customer inquiries or issues.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of sales/project experience in generator sets, power systems, or heavy equipment preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge in diesel generators, switchboards, ATS/AMF panels, fuel systems is an advantage.
- Familiar with power calculation, load sizing, installation & site requirements.
- Good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-driven, result-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Proficient in MS Office and familiar with AutoCAD drawings (added advantage).
- Possession of Class 3 driving license preferred.
- Overseas travelling.
Nice to Have
- Experience dealing with M&E consultants, EPC contractors, building projects, data centers, and infrastructure works.
- Understanding of local market standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., SCDF, EMA, NEA noise emission rules).
