Job description

Position: Project Manager (Rail / Trackwork)
Location: Flexible, must be open to site travel
Salary: Up to $18,000

About the Role

Lead and deliver rail trackwork projects on time, within budget, and to quality & safety standards. You will manage Permanent Way (PW) works, track installation/renewal, and possession planning/handback, coordinate with LTA and contractors, and ensure smooth project delivery.

What You Will Do

• Manage and deliver rail projects, including trackwork execution, on time, within budget, and to required standards
• Lead and coordinate Permanent Way (PW) works, track installation/renewal, and possession planning
• Work closely with LTA, clients, and contractors to ensure smooth coordination and communication
• Lead and manage project teams, consultants, and subcontractors
• Plan resources and ensure the team can meet project needs
• Monitor project progress, cost, quality, and safety performance
• Handle change management and resolve project issues
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and technical requirements
• Promote best practices and continuous improvement
• Lead safety management and accident investigations when required

What We Are Looking For

• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Proven experience in direct trackwork / permanent way execution on LTA or major rail projects (mandatory)
• Experience managing track installation, renewal, and possession planning / handback
• Good commercial and negotiation skills
• Strong understanding of project management and construction processes
• Strong knowledge of WSH, safety, and environmental requirements
• Experience in safety management and accident investigation

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Railway Engineering or Tier 2 Professional Project Manager (SPM) accreditation
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience
• Minimum 8 years managing design and construction teams for rail projects, including direct trackwork experience
