Job Summary

The Program Engineer in the Precision Engineering industry is responsible for managing technical and operational aspects of complex, high-precision engineering projects. This role bridges the gap between engineering teams, program managers, and clients, ensuring the successful design, development, and delivery of precision-engineered products. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional project management skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes in the precision engineering sector.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to deliver precision engineering programs on time and within cost targets
  • Collaborate with New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to align project objectives and ensure seamless execution
  • Monitor project progress and proactively resolve technical and logistical challenges to maintain project momentum
  • Provide technical expertise in precision engineering processes such as CNC machining, micro-fabrication, and metrology to support product development and manufacturing
  • Oversee prototype development and evaluate design manufacturability to ensure feasibility and quality standards
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for high-precision components and systems to mitigate potential issues early in the project lifecycle
  • Ensure all projects comply with stringent quality and tolerance standards typical of the precision engineering industry
  • Coordinate testing, validation, and inspection activities for components and assemblies to verify conformance to specifications
  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients, suppliers, and internal teams by delivering timely technical and programmatic updates
  • Prepare and present progress reports, technical documentation, and risk assessments to stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making
Required competencies and certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in program or project engineering roles within precision engineering or manufacturing industries
  • Strong knowledge of precision manufacturing processes and materials
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills applied to engineering challenges
  • Proven project management skills, including experience using tools such as MS Project
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across cross-functional teams
Preferred competencies and qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machining, CAD/CAM software, and high-precision measurement tools
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100
  • Experience managing customer relationships in sectors including Semiconductor, Aerospace, Medical Devices, and Analytical Life Sciences
  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques such as additive manufacturing and laser machining
