Job summary

A leading firm in waste management seeks a professional to oversee the scrap disposal process. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and has at least 3 years of experience in procurement or waste management. Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills are required. Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems is essential. This position is located in Singapore with provided transport.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in procurement, waste management, or scrap disposal.
• Knowledge of scrap material markets and recycling regulations.
• Experience in Marine Offshore or Heavy Industries is an advantage.

Job description

Scrap Disposal Management

• Oversee the end-to-end process of scrap material disposal across all company sites.
• Work in coordination with operations and warehouse teams.
• Ensure environmentally responsible and compliant disposal practices.

Value Recovery

• Identify and engage with certified scrap buyers and recyclers
• Conduct bid analysis to determine optimal pricing and timing for scrap sales.
• Negotiate contracts and terms to maximize financial returns from scrap.

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of scrap transactions
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, and audit requirements.
• Prepare reports on scrap sales, trends, and value recovery metrics.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with operations, finance, and logistics
• Support internal audits

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
• 3 years of experience in procurement, waste management, or scrap disposal
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills
• Knowledge of scrap material markets and recycling regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experienced in Marine Offshore or Heavy Industries will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:15pm

Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
