About The Job

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR generalist to support our people management and operations at the Institute for Adult Learning, an autonomous institute under SUSS. Reporting to the Deputy Director and in close collaboration with the corporate HR teams, this role is responsible for supporting key HR functions including recruitment, capability development, employee relations and engagement, performance management, HR policy implementation, and providing HR advisory to management and staff. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, people-centric, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.

What You Will Be Doing
Job Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Manage recruitment and selection processes, partnering with Corporate HRBP
  • Work with hiring managers to understand manpower needs and develop effective hiring strategies.
Performance Management & Capability Development
  • Assist the Deputy Director to facilitate the performance appraisal cycle, including goal-setting, evaluation, and calibration.
  • Manage capability development initiatives. Identify learning needs and curate appropriate development and functional training programmes for staff
Employee Relations & Engagement
  • Provide HR advisory to managers and staff on HR matters, policies, and employment issues.
  • Assist the Deputy Director to handle disciplinary matters and grievance management professionally and fairly.
  • Support and implement engagement programmes to enhance staff experience.
  • Work in collaboration with Corporate HR teams to implement HR policies and procedures to support organisational needs.
HR Operations & Systems
  • Oversee support staff on HR operations and administrations, including maintaining and updating accurate HR records and documentation, and responding to HR enquiries
  • Prepare HR dashboards, reports, and insights for IAL management
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5–7 years of HR generalist experience
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Proficient in HR systems, data management, digital HR tools and MS Office applications.
  • Good organisational, time‑management, and problem‑solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in HR administration
  • Discreet, professional, and able to handle confidential information
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prepare HR reports and analyse basic HR data
