Job summary

A leading aerospace firm in Singapore is seeking a Tool Management Engineer to establish and manage end-to-end tool, fixture, and gage management systems. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in engineering and proven experience with Tool Management Systems and inventory management in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include developing a digital Tool Management System, optimizing tool usage through data analytics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. This is a fixed-term contract for five years.

Overview

Establish and manage end-to-end tool, fixture, and gage management systems, ensuring standardization, traceability, and lifecycle visibility.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a digital Tool Management System (TMS) integrated with MES/ERP to enable data-driven decision-making, predictive maintenance, and tool life optimization.
  • Design and deploy smart tool room automation, covering tool inventory management, storage, assembly, presetting, measurement, balancing, and tool life control.
  • Optimize tool, fixture, and gage usage through data analytics, standard libraries, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce setup time and cost.
  • Define and execute tool and fixture strategies to ensure efficient utilization, fast availability, and alignment with manufacturing and engineering needs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and smart factory teams to integrate tool and gage data into connected digital platforms for full process visibility.
  • Leverage Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, RFID, and analytics) to enhance tracking accuracy, utilization efficiency, and process control.
  • Lead vendor evaluation and technology sourcing, ensuring scalable, cost-effective, and future-ready tool and gage management solutions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Digital Technology or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in tooling, fixture, and inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Tool Management Systems (TMS), MES/ERP integration, machining processes and automation technologies.
  • Familiarity with IoT, data analytics, and Industry 4.0 applications for predictive maintenance and digital traceability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • ACE/CORE Accreditation and or LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt and a passion for process improvement and alignment.
  • Fixed-term contract for five years.
