Core Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling
- Plan and direct resources and activities for production scheduling to meet business objectives.
- Forecast intra-company needs using material requirements planning systems and lean practices.
- Formulate build plans based on load capacity analysis.
- Value Stream & Operations Management
- Manage value streams with operations and engineering to ensure capacity aligns with requirements.
- Coordinate logistics, outside service providers, and on-time starts.
- SIOP Process Ownership
- Lead end-to-end SIOP process to align customer signals with the Master Production Schedule, creating a unified site plan.
- Work Order & Delivery Management
- Lead team of planners to ensure timely release of work orders and monitor gaps to achieve divisional goals and 100% on-time delivery.
- Track and expedite OV deliveries in collaboration with procurement and engineering.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build and lead a motivated planning organization through hiring, training, and performance assessments.
- Cost & Inventory Management
- Support cost reduction initiatives.
- Manage critical inventory processes: cycle counting, planning parameters, capacity analysis, and demand planning.
- Supplier Collaboration
- Work with procurement, engineering, and QA to qualify new suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Other Duties
- Handle related projects and assignments as required.
Qualifications
- Experience
- 5–10 years in Operations Planning/SCM within to-order manufacturing, OEM, or aerospace environments.
- Demonstrated progressive career development with increasing responsibilities in manufacturing.
- Skills
- Strong knowledge of production flow, inventory flow, and documentation procedures.
- Strong business/financial acumen and ability to lead teams and drive change.
- Excellent leadership skills with a global perspective on aerospace business factors.
- Excellent computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technical discipline required.
- APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification is a plus.
