About Our Client

Our client is an incredibly exciting VC fund that's investing in early-stage technology companies across Southeast Asia and India. They have closed two funds successfully and well on their way for their third & fourth fund raise. As part of their growth strategy, they are looking for someone to manage their existing institutional LPs and lead follow on fund raising. The Partner, VC role is a newly created role aimed at driving the success of the upcoming funds.

Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Partner for the funds, this role is required to lead fundraising efforts for an upcoming fund (e.g., $200M+). In addition, you must identify and cultivate relationships with institutional investors, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, endowments etc. You will lead deal negotiations, provide strategic guidance to portfolio companies, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the fund. This position requires strong industry expertise, a robust network, and the ability to identify and nurture innovative businesses.

You will be measured on:

  • Leading investor relations and achieving fund raising targets set by the firm
  • Contributing to fund strategy, sector focus and long term vision
  • Representing the fund at industry events and conferences
  • Provide strategic guidance to portfolio companies and lead deal negotiations
  • Acting as an advisor to the investment team, regarding investor interest
  • Being an important point of contact for regulators across various markets: SEA + India
The Successful Applicant

To be a successful applicant, you meet the following criteria:

  • Masters' in Finance, Business or another relevant discipline plus experience in investor and/or public relations
  • Prior experience of having led fundraising in the PE / VC setup, successfully closed rounds more than USD $200m
  • Proven track record in managing LP relationships and running co-investment processes
  • Ability to work independently - it is estimated that around 15 years' related experience would be needed to manage the demands of this role autonomously
  • Candidates from sell-side who have managed SEA or APAC P&Ls could find this a good fit
  • Strong business ethics and values to align to the corporate culture
