Job summary

A leading HR consultancy in Singapore is seeking a Head of Operations and Production to manage production operations and ensure compliance with quality standards. Requirements
  • Prior experience in a managerial role for at least 2 years or least 5 years working experience
  • Possess Minimum Diploma/Degree in Operations Management, Supply‑chain Management or Engineering
Job Scope & Responsibility
(1) Manage Production Operations
  • Liaise with Operations Executives to manage daily production planning and scheduling, ensuring that the timeline set is achievable and met
  • Oversee and manage the entire production process of creating company Products, from raw materials to finished goods (I.e. Supply Chain, QC, Resources Allocation, Delivery/Shipment)
  • Focus on all aspects of the production process, ensuring seamless coordination between departments.
  • Present clear, visible, accurate, and updated information on the various stages of work orders
  • Manage the implementation and conduct of trials for new product manufacturing processes
  • Implement proactive maintenance strategies. To be overall-in-charge in ensuring all equipment in the factory is well maintained
  • Implement sustainable manufacturing practices. Explore measures to save costs while not compromising on production quality and timeliness
  • Manage operating finances and resources
  • Manage organisational supply chain and logistics processes
  • Plan cost estimates for products. Provide weekly production costing forecasts/updates to the Management
  • Be accountable and responsible for any OT Costing
  • Oversee the retrieval, distribution and inventory management of precious metals/stones
(2) Conform To Management System Requirements
  • Develop quality management systems for manufacturing and business operations
  • Oversee manufacturing functions for compliance with workplace safety and health standards
  • Ensure all safety standards are met to keep an accident‑free environment
  • Manage compliance with corporate governance policies and legislative requirements
  • Ensure compliance to ISO9001 standards for all manufacturing functions.
(3) Contribute To Continuous Improvement
  • Develop quality management systems for manufacturing and business operations
  • Utilise advanced planning and scheduling software to create dynamic production schedules.
  • Implement root cause analysis methodologies to investigate quality incidents.
  • Employ lean production techniques such as single‑piece flow and kanban systems.
  • Deploy statistical process control techniques like control charts and process capability analysis.
  • Implement visual management tools such as Andon boards and production dashboards.
  • Conduct supplier scorecard assessments based on metrics such as on‑time delivery and defect rates.
  • Compile and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) in existing folders.
  • Oversee manufacturing functions for compliance with workplace safety and health standards
  • Continuously identify current work processes to be improved. Suggest and implement changes to better current work processes
  • Implement good 5S practices.
  • Create a risk register that catalogues potential hazards and conduct regular safety audits.
(4) Influence Organisational Development & Strategy
  • Communicate regularly with upper management regarding production issues and achievements.
  • Contribute to business analytics to facilitate data gathering and decision‑making
  • Utilize advanced manufacturing technologies such as industrial robotics and machine learning algorithms.
  • Manage industrial relations with stakeholders
  • Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced manufacturing costs.
  • Spearhead any strategic meetings for the Production team
  • Set productivity goals and KPIs for each manufacturing team.
(5) Lead & Support the Production Team
  • Monitor team performance and lead to achieve production goals and KPIs.
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching.
  • Develop Supervisors’ capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and training initiatives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and employee feedback sessions
