Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and other network components.
• Install and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure network availability and reliability.
• Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to diagnose and resolve network-related issues.
• Document network infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Provide support for network-related incidents and service requests.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
• Hands‑on experience with network hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista).
• Experience with network security tools and best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems is a plus.
• Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or JNCIA are preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
• Understanding of SD‑WAN, MPLS, and BGP/OSPF routing protocols.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies and cloud‑based networking.
