Receive referrals and conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs.
Develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with therapeutic objectives, patient preferences, and functional abilities.
Facilitate individual and group music therapy sessions to support emotional well‑being, meaningful engagement, and quality of life.
Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adapt therapeutic approaches as required.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation, including assessments, care plans, session notes, and progress reports.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, providing updates on patient and family engagement.
Identify complex psychosocial needs and refer patients to appropriate professionals (e.g. social workers, psychologists) for issues such as severe depression, suicide risk, or complicated grief.
Support the development and enhancement of programmes to address service gaps and improve care delivery.
Contribute to research initiatives that advance evidence‑based music therapy practice in palliative care.
Promote awareness of music therapy through presentations, public education, and stakeholder engagement.
Maintain professional competency through clinical supervision, continuing education, and self‑care practices.
Attend departmental meetings and provide updates on clinical activities and projects.
Collaborate with inter‑professional teams to design, implement, and evaluate holistic interventions for patients and families.
Assist in organising departmental initiatives, programmes, and events.
Prepare reports on therapy outcomes and contribute to internal and external publications.
Undertake additional duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Head of Department, or management.
Bachelor Degree in Music Therapy
2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment
