Job summary

A new healthcare facility in Singapore is seeking a highly motivated medical laboratory technologist/medical lab scientist to join their team. In this role, you will oversee blood bank operations, manage day-to-day laboratory tasks, and ensure compliance with quality and accreditation standards. The ideal candidate should have a recognized post-graduate qualification in Biomedical Science and a passion for clinical diagnostics, complemented by at least 3 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

We are looking for a highly motivated medical laboratory technologist/medical lab scientist (MLT/MLS) to join our dynamic team at Eastern General Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a passion for clinical diagnostics, strong leadership abilities and a commitment in delivering quality patient care.

As an MLT/MLS In-charge (Blood Bank), you will

  • Assist the Head of Section/Pathologist‑in‑charge in the planning and setting up of laboratory service and nesting of laboratory staff for the Blood Bank section.
  • Manage the day‑to‑day operation of the new laboratory set up and ensure effective allocation of available resources to meet service delivery in the laboratory.
  • Apply scientific and technical skills to support and troubleshoot laboratory test procedures, analyzer maintenance, workflow and operational issues, to achieve delivery of a high-quality laboratory service.
  • Initiate development of new and/or innovation laboratory tests and implementation of state‑of‑the‑art technologies for laboratory testing.
  • Provide training to laboratory personnel on laboratory test procedures.
  • Participate in data analytics and quality assurance management to enhance laboratory efficiency.
  • Lead team members in specified laboratory functions to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Work with Manager (Laboratory Medicine) on the career development of staff within the section.
Requirements
  • Recognised post‑graduate qualification in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or equivalent, with minimum 3 years of relevant job experience and demonstrated competency, or
  • Recognised degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or equivalent, with minimum 6 years of relevant job experience and demonstrated competency.
  • Experience in quality assurance, laboratory audit and accreditation will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID‑19.
