Job summary

A maritime engineering company based in Singapore is looking for a Marine Engineer to handle and maintain marine machinery, troubleshoot repairs on vessels, and perform engineering work both onboard and at other locations. The ideal candidate will have a Nitec in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with experience in internal combustion engines, and at least 2 years in a related area. This position requires a commitment to safety and maintenance standards.

Qualifications

• Nitec in Mechanical Engineering or similar qualification is required.
• Preferably with experience in internal combustion engines.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in a related area.

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description

• Handle and maintain marine machinery, including engines and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and attend to repair works / breakdown works on assigned vessels.
• Perform engineering work onboard ship or other locations such as dismantling, maintenance, repair, overhaul and installation work.
• Test, measure and adjust engine system.
• Recommend parts replacement.
• Assemble, dismantle, service & repair of pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, and other machinery parts inside the workshop and on-site.
• Ensure that corrective maintenance and repairs are carried out to minimize downtime.
• Support the Company’s warehouse team during stock taking.
• Perform routine housekeeping of worksite to ensure the workshop is kept safe, neat and clean for work.

Requirement

• Nitec in Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualification
• Preferably with experience in internal combustion engines
• Experience in Marine environment will be advantageous
• Proper apprenticeship training with a reputable engine-related
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in related area
