Key Account Manager – Automotive (ASEAN Focus)

The Opportunity

This is a high-stakes role, especially given the current "EV war" in Southeast Asia. As the automotive industry shifts toward a sustainable future, our client is at the forefront of the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) revolution.

We are looking for a high-caliber Key Account Manager to spearhead their expansion across the ASEAN region.

This is a strategic position for a trilingual leader who can navigate the complexities of international trade, build high-level partnerships, and serve as the vital link between the Chinese manufacturing excellence and the rapidly evolving Southeast Asian market.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Market Growth
    • Design and execute comprehensive Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies to penetrate and dominate key ASEAN territories.
    • Identify and capture new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with global sales targets and brand positioning.
    • Lead high-stakes negotiations and oversee the end-to-end sales cycle for major accounts.
  2. Relationship & Stakeholder Management
    • Cultivate and maintain "C-suite" relationships with key automotive distributors, government bodies, and fleet partners.
    • Act as the primary liaison between local ASEAN stakeholders and the Chinese headquarters, ensuring cultural and operational alignment.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Supply Chain, Finance) to resolve complex regional challenges.
  3. Market Intelligence & Profitability
    • Analyze regional market trends, competitor pricing, and regulatory changes to provide actionable insights to HQ.
    • Optimize account profitability through rigorous cost management and strategic pricing models.
    • Oversee financial administration, including credit management and ensuring 100% timely revenue collection.
  4. Leadership & Mentorship
    • Potentially lead and scale a high-performing regional team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous development.
    • Set KPIs and provide the technical and commercial guidance necessary for the team to exceed regional targets.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7–10 years of proven success in Sales & Marketing within the automotive manufacturing sector or distributorship with minimum continue 3 years in a managerial or leader capacity.
  • Regional Expertise: Deep understanding of the ASEAN automotive landscape, including import regulations, tax incentives (e.g., BOI in Thailand), and distribution networks.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced command of CRM systems (Salesforce/Dynamics) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mobility: High flexibility for international travel (up to 50%) across the ASEAN region.
