GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.

Role Overview:

  • Lead the development of repair processes for Component Repair New Introduction (NPI).
  • Generate manufacturing routers and instructions, Repair Source Substantiation packages, and other documentation required for industrialization and approval.
  • Lead resolution of technical and operational challenges or concerns raised, and ensure follow through till approval is obtained and repair is handed over to shop operations.
  • Work closely with the Repair, Design and Product Support Engineering teams in Singapore, USA & other global sites, during the NPI repair development phase & industrialization.
  • Manage multiple NPI projects by providing scheduling, resource management, budget control and EHS compliance.
  • Lead and effectively interface with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and other support teams during NPI repair industrialization in the Shop, and ensure that it meets Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives, within schedule and budget.
  • Interface with vendors and internal functions in an effective manner to ensure that the action items to be carried out for the NPI are executed on time and on budget.
  • Assure that all engineering designs and technical data are completed and accurately documented to provide an accurate technical/historical base for future reference and to meet customer / end user requirements.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives, including continuous improvement of repair processes, and utilize FLIGHT DECK tools for NPI process improvements.
  • Implement new technology and/or process improvements to increase productivity of new repair processes.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have a good grasp of key repair manufacturing processes, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and collaborate effectively across global teams to drive lean, continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Mechanical / Aerospace / Materials or other relevant Engineering discipline with 1-3 years of experience in NPI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good understanding of manufacturing and inspection tools and processes used in the repair industry – brazing, heat treat, diffusion coating/thermal spray, peening, welding/additive, machining, etc.
  • Working knowledge of blueprints, application of engine manuals and technical substantiation process will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, tool/fixture design and applications in repair.
  • Good time management and strong organizational skills, with ability to multi-task to meet deadlines and customer needs.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles, tools and methodology.
