The Managing Director is fully responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and long-term growth of the hair salon business. This role oversees operations, people, brand standards, financial performance, and expansion strategy, ensuring the salon delivers consistent service excellence, profitability, and strong market reputation.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep operational discipline, people management maturity, and strong commercial judgment.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the company’s business strategy, growth plans, and brand positioning
- Drive revenue growth while maintaining service quality and cost control
- Identify opportunities for expansion, new outlets, partnerships, or service offerings
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, employment laws, and industry standards
Operations Management
- Oversee daily salon operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and professional execution
- Establish and enforce SOPs for service quality, hygiene, customer experience, and retail sales
- Monitor KPIs including sales, productivity, staff utilisation, and customer retention
- Resolve operational issues promptly and decisively
People & Culture Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Salon Managers, Stylists, and Support Teams
- Build a strong service-oriented culture focused on professionalism and accountability
- Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and staff retention
- Implement incentive schemes aligned with business performance
Financial & Commercial Management
- Full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
- Monitor cash flow, pricing strategy, commissions, and inventory control
- Work closely with finance and HR on payroll, incentives, and profitability analysis
Brand & Customer Experience
- Safeguard and enhance the salon’s brand image and service standards
- Ensure consistent customer experience across all outletsHandle high-level customer escalations and maintain long-term client loyalty
- Collaborate with marketing teams on promotions, campaigns, and brand visibility
Requirements
- Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in senior management, preferably in hair salon, beauty, wellness, hospitality, or retail services
- Proven experience managing multi-outlet operations is highly preferred
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage creative and service-driven teams
- Solid financial acumen with hands-on P&L experience
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Practical, grounded, and disciplined leadership style
- Ability to work long hours and be operationally involved when required
