The Role
This position will support and lead aspects of various aspects within the Enterprise Services group. In this role you will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of operational activities for live sporting events and technical services. The role is primarily based at AFG HQ, with events managed through centralised operational and technical workflows rather than on-venue delivery.
This position requires a solid operational foundation, broadcast awareness, and growing commercial responsibility. The role provides operational support to the AFG Broadcast Technical Center (BTC), including working late and out-of-hours during live transmission and time-critical broadcast windows.
Key Responsibilities
Technology, Transmission & Live Support
- Support live broadcast and transmission operations with a strong understanding of broadcast workflows, providing operational support to the AFG Broadcast Technical Center (BTC) during live broadcasts, including late and out-of-hours shifts.
- Support Media Asset Management (MAM) operations, including event setup, user access, reporting, metadata checks, and consistent asset tagging, while coordinating with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
- Responsible for supporting the overall delivery of virtual advertisement “VA” by:
- Support the end-to-end delivery of Virtual Advertising (VA) across virtualized events
- Crew and manage freelance VA personnel, including travel, accommodation, visas, and briefings
- Create and distribute daily VA schedules to key stakeholders
- Coordinate with AFG’s appointed VA supplier to ensure event readiness
- Provide account management support to third-party VA suppliers onsite
- Prepare and submit VA production booking sheets to cross-functional teams
- Develop presentation materials to communicate VA initiatives to key stakeholders, and ensure delivery requirements and plans are accurately reflected in both internal and client-facing documents
- Support VA tender processes, including RFP issuance, testing coordination, and submission review
Commercial, Contract & Supplier Management
- Manage and track operational budgets and event-related costs supporting flash reporting
- Coordinate suppliers and service providers, including transmission and technical vendors
- Support the administration and day-to-day management of contracts, invoices and purchase orders
- Monitor supplier delivery against agreed scopes, timelines, and service levels
- Support procurement activities, including scoping requirements, obtaining quotes, and supplier onboarding
- Identify cost efficiencies and operational improvements within defined scopes
Communication & Reporting
- Collaborate with direct and cross-functional teams, suppliers, and partners on operational matters, ensuring clear communication.
- Maintain accurate operational documentation and reporting to support team alignment.
- Contribute to post-event reviews, cost summaries, and operational feedback, fostering continuous improvement across teams.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in broadcast operations, media operations, or a related operational role
- Experience with event logistics
- Good understanding of broadcast and transmission workflows
- Experience managing budgets, suppliers, or operational costs
- Ability to work flexible and late hours in support of live broadcast operations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in events for 3+ years, with sports events a plus
- Skilled user of all Microsoft applications, demonstrating strong Excel skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the demands of the role
