General Duties
- Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
- Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work.
- Inspect and maintain building systems (Oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, facilities, machines, and tools to ensure they are safe, reliable, and efficient).
- Schedule and assign work to maintenance technicians based on priority, skill level, and workload.
- Evaluate the performance of maintenance technicians, identify areas for improvement, and provide feedback to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures, protocols, and policies to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Manage spare parts inventory, vendor contracts, and supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective replacement of worn-out parts and equipment.
- Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, production, and quality control, to identify and resolve maintenance-related issues that impact plant productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and repair costs to identify trends, track performance, and forecast future maintenance needs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including environmental, health & safety, and labor laws, and work with management to address and resolve issues as they arise.
- Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
- Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.
- Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations).
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and coach team members to achieve performance goals.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, machinery, and facilities.
- Sound understanding of maintenance techniques, tools, and principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficient in the use of maintenance management software, computer systems, and MS Office applications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
