Job summary

A leading polymer manufacturing firm in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Lead to manage plant maintenance and modifications. This role involves leading a mechanical contractor team, ensuring safety during operations, and troubleshooting mechanical issues. Candidates must possess a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 2 years of experience in relevant industries. Hands-on skills with static and rotating equipment are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.

Job description
The Job

You will join the Maintenance Section to upkeep the manufacturing plants equipped with latest technology and advanced engineering control and support the Maintenance Manager in accomplishing corporate business objectives.

The Daily
  • Lead a team of mechanical contractors in performing all the plant maintenance, modification, and construction activities to ensure work are carried timely, safely and with good maintenance practices with no disruption to plant operations.
  • Coordinate with plant operators and other maintenance groups in the execution of plant maintenance and modifications works with no compromise to safety of workers and integrity of facilities.
  • Carry out mechanical study and modification of plant facilities according to technical specification and business requirements.
  • Performs technical investigation on plant equipment troubles, evaluation of findings and recommend countermeasures to effectively prevent recurrences of similar problems.
  • Conduct and arrange training for staff and contractor to enhance their skill and competency levels.
  • Respond to plant emergency calls and resolve mechanical troubles within tight schedule.
  • Implement management systems based on standards stipulated under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 450001 and SS651.
The Essentials
  • Possess a Diploma (i.e. Supervisor) / Degree (i.e. Engineer) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in maintenance of mechanical facilities in oil, petrochemicals and power industry.
  • Hands on experience in troubleshooting and repair of Static Equipment and Rotating Equipment such as heat exchangers, pressure vessels, agitators, pumps, compressors and blowers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic knowledge in SAP applications will be advantageous.
  • Essential prerequisites include good analytical & problem-solving skills, ability to communicate with staff in different functions & contractors, strong spirit of collaboration & teamwork.
