Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate lorry crane to lift, move or reposition loads safety and precisely.
• Listen and carry out instructions given from ground crew or helpers via radio communication or hand signals.
• Direct helpers to position outriggers and blocks properly to prevent capsizing during heavy load lifting.
• Inspect, rig, and ensure that rigging applications are configured in accordance with the load chart and manufacturer guidelines.
• Assess loads to determine their weight and compare it against lifting capacity to prevent risk of overload.
• Interact closely with customer for accurate movement of materials and equipment.
• Inspect, clean and perform operator level maintenance in crane mechanism and hoisting components in accordance with standards.
• Perform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
• Arrange for periodic maintenance of vehicle/equipment or when vehicle/equipment malfunctions.
• Follow related safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and operating procedures.
• Provide report of work operations by completing relevant paperwork.
• Other ad-hoc assignments assigned by your superior from time to time

Qualifications & Requirements

• Completion of High School or Secondary education.
• Possess crane operator training certificate or license.
• Good knowledge of standard crane operation techniques and hand signals preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English in order to understand equipment load charts, prepare written orders, read safety instruction, etc.
• Min. Class 5 driving license.
• At least 2 years’ experience working with lift trucks, overhead cranes and mobile cranes.
• Familiar with Singapore routes
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good driving records.

Working Conditions

• 5.5 Working days per week but may subject to O/T and working during weekends and holidays.
• Could expect to work in stuffy, noisy and dusty environment.
• Need to wear appropriate PPE when on duty.
