JOB DESCRIPTION

Drive the assessment, adoption, and scaling of emerging technologies across the bank. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, architecture, innovation, and talent development, shaping enterprise-wide transformation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategy & Leadership – Define and execute the bank’s emerging technology strategy aligned with enterprise architecture and transformation roadmap; Establish operating models, prioritisation frameworks, and portfolio governance; Ensure regulatory compliance, data security, and technical quality standards.
  • Research & Experimentation – Scan cutting‑edge technologies and industry trends to accelerate architecture modernisation; Lead PoCs across blockchain/digital assets, quantum, and digital trust; Manage sandboxes and oversee end‑to‑end pilot delivery with internal and external partners.
  • Scaling & Integration – Demonstrate feasibility of PoCs and secure funding for pilots; Scale proven pilots into enterprise‑ready solutions across markets; Define technical standards and APIs for seamless system integration.
  • Industry Engagement – Collaborate with innovators, academia, and ecosystem partners; Represent the bank at industry forums and brief senior management on insights.
  • Talent Development – Build and grow a pool of emerging technology architects and engineers; Drive learning and development programmes to strengthen internal capabilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications in emerging technologies are highly advantageous.
  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in technical leadership, solution architecture, or enterprise innovation within Financial Services or FinTech with hands‑on experience leading system integration and building cohesive technology ecosystems.
  • Solid engineering background with deep expertise in one or more emerging technologies, such as Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) / Public/private blockchain platforms (e.g. R3 Corda) / Quantum technologies or related advanced domains.
  • A strong blend of architect, technologist, and engineer, with proven ability to move emerging technologies from proof‑of‑concept to enterprise‑grade deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, validate, and integrate complex technical solutions aligned to business requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile principles and methodologies, supporting iterative development and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, internal and external.
  • Proven leadership capabilities to lead, manage, or influence teams and drive outcomes with the ability to engage senior stakeholders, regulators, and external partners.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating technical risks.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and execution discipline.
