A prominent asset management firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced Investment Director to lead and develop ASEAN investment strategies. The ideal candidate will have 9-12 years of top-tier experience in asset management, demonstrating strong client-facing skills and a track record of building relationships. Responsibilities include researching new products, leading investment proposals, and driving client development. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of the asset management landscape in ASEAN markets.
Singapore and ASEAN is a new market for CSI Asset Management. Singapore will be CSI Asset Management's ASEAN investment hub from where we expect to cover and provide products and services to clients across South Asia. Building a comprehensive platform in Singapore for these purposes is one of CSI Asset Management's key priorities for 2026.
The role of Investment Director will have four key responsibilities in our Singapore & ASEAN asset management business:
(i) to lead ASEAN investment thinking and contribute ASEAN investment proposals and ideas into regional investment committee deliberations for potential inclusion in regional and global portfolios;
(ii) to research and propose ASEAN-specific products and portfolios for launch;
(iii) to lead business and client development among traditional SG and ASEAN investors, including institutional, corporate, FO/MFO, and wealth management intermediaries in the ASEAN region; and
(iv) to act as a product specialist capable of clearly articulating CSI Asset Management's investment capabilities, competitive edge, products and portfolios in order to attract assets into local and regional portfolios.
This is a role for an experienced asset management professional with deep investment understanding who wants to be able to make a significant contribution to investment thinking and product development choices in the regional asset management business, but who is motivated by covering and servicing clients, clearly articulating our investment capabilities and strengths and value-add, and ultimately in helping us develop and grow our ASEAN client base and AUM. This is not a portfolio manager position.
Candidates for this position will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of (i) the product and service strengths of CSI Asset Management, (ii) the challenges of marketing asset management products and services from a predominantly China-focused asset manager to SG and ASEAN clients, and (iii) where the opportunities are for CSI Asset Management in ASEAN, how to prioritise them and how to execute on them. A successful candidate will also demonstrate sufficient drive and energy to achieve measurable progress in external client and distribution development.
