About the job Head of Procurement (Global)

We are looking for a Head of Procurement (Global) for a well-established global corporate conglomerate. This strategic leadership role is responsible for developing and executing the Groups global procurement strategy to drive cost efficiencies, enhance supplier partnerships, and optimize procurement operations.

The incumbent will oversee procurement policies, governance, and major contracts while identifying opportunities for transformation and value creation. The ideal candidate would have at least 10 years of leadership experience in global procurement or supply chain management and a proven track record in establishing global procurement frameworks, implementing best-in-class strategies, and delivering cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Groups medium- to long-term procurement strategy to drive cost-effective outcomes, including potential transformation of procurement structures, policies, and practices.
  • Monitor market trends and integrate best practices to enhance cost efficiency, productivity, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Oversee major procurement contracts, ensuring compliance, managing change orders, and resolving issues in alignment with contract law, consulting legal counsel when necessary.
  • Establish, implement, and review procurement policies, standards, controls, and procedures.
  • Drive measurable cost savings to improve overall earnings.
  • Ensure governance and compliance in all procurement transactions, acting as the primary liaison with external regulatory bodies when required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, identifying opportunities for consolidation to optimize costs and enhance service delivery.
  • Leverage data analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities, model financial impacts, and optimize spend management.
  • Engage senior leadership to align procurement initiatives with business objectives, providing cost-effective alternatives and strategic options.
  • Lead the Procurement department, taking full accountability for its performance and management.
  • Develop and enhance the skills and competencies of procurement staff.
  • Plan, manage, and monitor the departments budget to ensure financial efficiency.
Requirements
  • A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in global procurement or supply chain management.
  • A proven track record in establishing global procurement frameworks, implementing best-in-class strategies, and delivering cost-effective solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across all levels.
  • Results-driven leader with experience in mentoring teams, driving performance, and fostering a transformational mindset.
