Function: Leadership in Sales, Bid Management, Project Strategy

Department: Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings

Mission

We are seeking a dynamic Head Airport Vertical to work directly with one of our key customers to shape and secure further major business opportunities and expand Smart Infrastructure Buildings' bus iness with Singapore airport, with a specific focus on fire safety and building management systems an d services (BMS).

This is a newly created role, established to en hance the support and value we bring to one of our key customers as they progress with one of the largest project s in the region: the landmark expansion of Changi Airport Terminal 5. As Singapore prepares for this critical growth milestone, Siemens is poised to provide world-class fire safety and advanced building management solutions. The successful candidate will lead our efforts to engage key industry stakeholders, managecomplex bids, and build a skilled team to deliver on this opportunity.

Responsibilities
  1. Sales and Business Development
    • Ma nage and enrich key stakeholders ’ relationships within the airport authorities, consultants , and contractors . Frontline all sales and business development activities.
    • Coordinate complex stakeholder groups t o drive optimal outcomes for the ai rport for the construction period (products and solutions) and long-term operation s (services) .
    • So lidify Siemens ’ position as the primary technology partner for Fire Safety & BMS , and provide guidance to the key stakeholders on optimized business model s to ensure successful delivery
    • Influence project specifications to ensure Siemens technologies are optimally positioned for the best customer value .
  2. Bid Management and Project Strategy
    • Oversee the bid management process for large-scale and highly complex projects, ensuring bid submissions meet the highest standards of quality and competitiveness.
    • Identify and mobilize relevant internal Siemens resources and competencies within the Smart Infrastructure Buildings organization .
  3. Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement Siemens’ fire safety and BMS business strategy for the project and operational phases , ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives .
    • Develop strategies for partnershipsand alliances with other key industry players, ensuring Siemens is well-placed in all scenarios.
  4. Operational Excellence and Team Building
    • Prepare the organization for future project execution and management responsibilities, including ramping up a dedicated local team capable of taking on full operational duties post-project award.
    • Lead team development efforts, ensuring the highest level of technical and project management expertise is achieved.
  5. Technical and Market Specialization
    • Leverage Siemens’ longstanding position as the incumbent provider of advanced fire safety solutions for two existing terminals at Changi Airport, ensuring continuity in service and innovation for Terminal 5.
    • Explore opportunities to enhance Siemens’ market position in building management solutions alongside fire safety operations.
What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate for this role will bring a combination of sales, bid, technical, and strategy experience, with a proven track record of success in large-scale and complex infrastructure projects. Successful candidates should demonstrate :

  1. Leadership and Sales Expertise
    • A customer centric mindset w ith focus o n tangible value creation and transparency in both projects and services
    • A bility to influence multiple internal and external stakeholders to an aligned outcome , for strategy, business model , technology partnership .
    • Strong background in sales, business development, and customer engagement, particularly in the fields of fire safety, building automation, or other complex technical solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead frontline negotiations and influence key decision-makers within large infrastructure projects.
  2. Bid and Project Management Experience
    • Extensive experience leading bid teams in large and complex project environments, ideally with consortium or partnership setups.
    • Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder ecosystems to deliver successful tender outcomes.
  3. Strategic Vision and Market Knowledge
    • Strong ability to develop competitive strategies and align them with customer needs, market dynamics, and Siemens’ portfolio strengths.
    • Familiarity with Singapore’s infrastructure market, including regulatory and operational frameworks, as well as experience working with Chinese contractors, would be an advantage.
  4. Operational and Technical Skills
    • Expertise in fire safety and building management systems, with a proven track record of delivering mission-critical projects.
