A leading golf club in Singapore is seeking a dedicated individual responsible for supervising staff and enforcing club rules while coordinating various golf tournaments and events. The ideal candidate will have a secondary education and at least five years of experience in golf operations, as well as strong planning, organizing, and communication skills. A cheerful personality and customer-oriented approach are essential to interact with club members effectively.
He / she is responsible for the execution of club rules, policies and guidelines laid down by the committee.
He / she will assist in the daily operation by supervising the work of the marshals and golf stewards.
He / she will also be responsible for coordinating and executing golf tournaments and events.
Enforces the golf rules stipulated under the Club Rules Handbook such as order to play, control hours, time sheet bookings, when and who are eligible to play on the course, handicap certifications, maintenance of handicaps.
Coordinates and executes golf tournaments or events such as Fa Cai Cup, Wee Kim Wee Challenge Trophy, Brigadier Derek Warren Challenge Trophy, Captain’s Team vs Lady Captain’s Team Event, 72-Hole Strokeplay Championship, Club Match Play Championship, Monthly Medal, Golf Medal and SGA Inter-Club Match and SLGA Inter-Club Match.
Assists the Head of Department and the Senior Golf Executive in executing all the golf activities and private tournaments.
Supervises the Golf department to ensure smooth departmental operations.
Briefs, motivates and communicates with golfing staff regularly to forge closer working relationships with staff, to identify and solve work challenges.
Plans duty roster for junior staff.
Attend monthly sub-committee meeting and any other ad-hoc golf-related meetings.
Assists in conducting the Rules, Etiquette training seminar for new members. Draft quotation for private tournament for the Head of Department.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Secondary education with five years of related working experience.
Knowledge of basic golf rules, handicapping and golf operations is preferred. Knowledge of basic golf course maintenance is helpful to identify possible problems on the golf course.
Planning and organizing skills to execute golf competitions and events. Ability to lead and supervise golf staff.
Good communication skills and ability to relate to members’ requests and expectations. Customer oriented and cheerful personality.
