MCS Group is seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager – Ferrous Brokerage to lead our ferrous commodities business in the Asia-Pacific region. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving commercial growth, managing strategic client relationships, overseeing trading operations, and aligning the business with the Group’s global objectives.

The successful candidate will bring deep market knowledge, proven leadership skills, and the ability to inspire high-performing teams to deliver exceptional results in a competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the ferrous brokerage business, setting strategic direction and ensuring delivery of revenue and profitability targets.
  • Oversee daily trading activities in iron ore and steel markets, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and execute business growth strategies to expand market share and product offerings.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop team members to foster a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic market intelligence, pricing insights, and commercial recommendations to clients and senior management.
  • Collaborate with global offices to optimise cross-border trading opportunities.
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on performance metrics, market developments, and business opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in commodities broking or trading, with significant exposure to iron ore/steel markets.
  • Proven experience in managing a trading desk, business unit, or commercial team.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commercially driven with a track record of delivering results in competitive markets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
