Role Overview
We are seeking a Full-Time Science Teacher who is passionate about both teaching and curriculum development. This role involves delivering engaging primary science lessons aligned with the Singapore MOE syllabus, while actively contributing to PSLE-focused academic research and curriculum design.
The ideal candidate enjoys making science lessons lively and meaningful, and is also interested in analysing PSLE requirements, refining lesson structures, and co‑developing high-quality science materials with the academic team.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Classroom Delivery- Conduct engaging and effective primary science lessons aligned with the MOE syllabus
- Teach upper primary levels, with a focus on PSLE Science
- Explain scientific concepts clearly using visuals, real‑life examples, and guided discussions
- Encourage students to think, explain, and apply concepts rather than memorising answers
- Maintain a positive and structured classroom learning environment
Lesson Preparation & Assessment- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and teaching materials for assigned classes
- Design, mark, and review assignments, quizzes, and assessments
- Track student progress and identify learning gaps and misconceptions
- Adjust teaching strategies based on student performance and feedback
Curriculum Development & PSLE Academic Research- Participate actively in science curriculum development and refinement
- Contribute to PSLE‑oriented lesson frameworks, worksheets, and question design
- Analyse school examination papers and PSLE‑style questions to identify trends and skill gaps
- Assist in developing structured teaching approaches for different ability levels
- Work closely with the Academic Director on science curriculum planning and improvements
Academic Collaboration & Professional Development- Participate in internal academic meetings, lesson sharing, and training sessions
- Collaborate with other science teachers to align teaching standards and pacing
- Be open to lesson observations, feedback, and continuous improvement
- Stay updated on MOE syllabus changes and PSLE Science assessment trends
Parent & Student Support- Provide academic feedback on student progress when required
- Support academic talks, workshops, or science‑related sharing sessions if needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Science or a related discipline
- Experience teaching primary science or strong familiarity with MOE syllabus
- Understanding of PSLE Science requirements and question styles
- Ability to explain concepts clearly in an engaging and age‑appropriate manner
- Interest in curriculum development and academic research work
- Willingness to contribute beyond classroom teaching
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working attitude
- Able to work weekends as required
