Job Descriptions:
Store Profitability:
- To maximise sales and minimise costs in order to meet company’s gross profit target.
- To maintain stock levels and commitment in order to maximise sales and minimise cost of reductions/and Food Waste.
- To exploit selling opportunities through identifying and chasing the fast sellers in depth/ahead.
- To identify slow selling lines and propose action plan when necessary.
- To manage size ratio and availability through effective analytical work on the available information and reports to benchmark and generate recommendation and actions in order to maximise/achieve agreed targets.
- To propose percentage of uplift on promotional items.
- To assist in the preparation of relevant reports and information for analysis.
Communication:
- To build good rapport and working relationship with Retail, Logistics and Marketing team.
- To closely work with Retail and Marketing Teams to deliver clear presentation of GMA, layout guidelines etc, and through effective communication to ensure agreed plans are being implemented by respective parties.
- To assist Head of Buying/ Senior Buyer in producing operational guidelines to stores.
- To conduct regular store visit to establish links with the store team. Collecting information on customer profile and store feedback and be able to make recommendations on product presentation and layout enhancement, etc to Head of Buying/ Senior Buyer.
Developing self or others:
- To develop and train Buying Assistant to be commercial and able to work independently to support the growth of the business. Through training and performance coaching to ensure understanding of the overall commercial target and the contribution that can be made at the Assistant level.
- To review regular performance and objectives for the development of yourself and buying assistant.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
Diploma in related field or equivalent
Minimum Experience and Knowledge:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in retail (General/Foods) buying/ merchandising

- Effective communication skills with Internal and External customers
- Good planning and organisation
