Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Client Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for shipowner clients on all fleet-related matters.
- Ensure vessels are managed in accordance with management agreements, client KPIs, and budgets.
- Provide regular operational, technical, and financial reporting to clients.
- Support business development through professional client engagement and fleet performance.
Marine, Technical & HSSE Oversight
- Oversee marine and technical operations across the tanker fleet in compliance with ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, ISGOTT, and company HSSE policies.
- Ensure vessels maintain class, statutory certification, and continuous vetting readiness (SIRE, CDI where applicable).
- Act as escalation point for incidents, emergencies, and non-conformities.
- Drive a strong safety culture and proactive risk management across the fleet.
Superintendent & Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and supervise Marine and Technical Superintendents.
- Allocate fleet responsibilities and ensure effective workload distribution.
- Review superintendent reports, maintenance plans, drydocking schedules, and technical budgets.
- Ensure consistency and quality of management across all assigned vessels.
Technical, Drydocking & Budget Control
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and drydocking planning in coordination with technical teams and clients.
- Review and approve technical budgets, cost control measures, and invoice claims.Monitor vessel performance, downtime, off-hire, and technical KPIs.
Compliance, Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Support and lead internal and external audits, inspections, and client reviews.
- Ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and fleet performance.
- Represent the company at client meetings, audits, and industry forums.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Nautical Studies, or related discipline.
- Chief Engineer or Master Mariner CoC is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in tanker ship management, including supervisory or fleet-level responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of tanker regulations, vetting, audits, and management systems.
- Proven leadership, client management, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
