Experience in local and overseas jurisdictions with tax efficiency and compliance

Our Client, a commodities trading company, is inviting qualified candidates to fill the position asFinance Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, annual, and consolidated financial statements and reports in compliance with standards such as IFRS or GAAP. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and provide recommendations to senior management.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring variances and providing insights into performance drivers.

  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control frameworks, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure all financial activities comply with local and international financial regulations.

  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Manage and optimize the company’s financial resources, including cash flow, working capital, debt management, and banking relationships, which is especially critical in the capital‑intensive commodities trading sector.

  • Audit & Tax Oversight: Coordinate internal and external audit processes and manage all tax planning and compliance requirements, ensuring readiness and accurate submissions.

  • Trade Finance Support: Work closely with the trading team to understand and manage the financial implications of complex commodity transactions.

  • Process Improvement & Systems Management: Streamline accounting functions and operations, leveraging financial software and ERP systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, manage, and mentor the finance team, while collaborating with other departments to align financial strategies with overall business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • University degree in Finance or Accounting or related field.

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a financial control or managerial accounting role, with experience in the commodities trading or commodities related industry.

  • Experience in local and overseas jurisdictions with tax efficiency and compliances will be added advantage.

  • A structured and hands‑on approach.

  • Good analytical and conceptual skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with excellent knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
